Saturday: Winter Wonderland

With the hint of winter in the air and the holiday season around the corner, what better class than a handful of icy cool creations! We will create winter animals (from polar bears and penguins to adorable abominable snowmen!) and we will learn wonderful tricks for creating the illusion of ice and snow with clay, powders, glitter, beads and resin. Emphasis is on sculptural techniques, composition and mixed media accents. You will have the choice of creating sculptures, wall pieces, ornaments or hanging pieces or pendants – or some of each!

Sunday: A Day of Steampunk

“Steampunk” is a very interesting look that’s really hot right now, it can vary from a gritty gothic to lace & filigree Victorian to mad scientist-adventurer drama – anyway you look at it, it adds a whole new level of embellishment possibilities to polymer clay! In this class we will create several steampunk creations (animals and floral designs) using vintage gears and other embellishments. We will also learn how to make faux metal and leather, and create the look of aging to our pieces. Emphasis is on sculptural techniques, composition and mixed media accents. Your pieces can be sculptures, wall pieces, pendants or jewelry components.

Come for one day or for both. $100 per day or $175 for both days. Meals included.
